Handouts
Hello! Relay for Life is in two more days and we busy getting ready for it! Look for our ad in the Exponent, we've put one in each day this week. Today, we all went over the the Co-Rec area and passed out fliers to the students. It was very successful and we gave away all that we had. Although we didn't have a camera on us, I've added some pictures of the handouts that we were giving to students so you could see them too.

Painting the Boards
Hey! So here's the (almost) finished product of the cornhole boards I painted this weekend. I didn't have the white border around the ribbon when I took this picture, but other than that, this is what they look like!Come join us in playing cornhole while you are at the Relay for Life this Saturday starting at 6 pm. Games will be $1 per person and you can play as many times as you want!

The countdown begins! We are currently 9 days away from the Relay for Life! We met today and figured out our plans for the fliers and handouts. We plan to post fliers in the different buildings on campus as well as hand out little cards this coming week at the Co-Rec. The corn-hole boards are already made and plan to paint them this Easter weekend. Look for us on Thursday from 6-8 at the Co-Rec!

Meeting Minutes
Hello! So we had a productive meeting today and I thought I would add the notes as to what all we talked about. The Relay is in three weekends and we are getting excited for it! Here's what we talked about:
Jenny and Sunyoung are appointed to working on the fliers and postcards. The postcards were decided on so that they are easy to hand out and will cut down on cost production. We will be going to the CoRec a couple nights right before Relay to hand them out. The fliers we will be putting around in different rooms and bulletin boards. We will also write on chalkboards in the big lecture halls promoting the Relay and our team name.
Dom and Bryan are going to buy the wood and make our corn hole games this weekend. Bryan will buy the wood on Friday and they will meet on Sunday morning to make them. The boards are going to be pre cut.
Carly, Jenny, and Sunyoung are going shopping next Tuesday for fabric (for the corn hole bags), paint (for the corn hole boards), and decorations for our table that we will have during the Relay event. We are meeting at Windsor at 7:00 to go shopping.
Carly brought up the idea that we should go downtown and ask some of the flower shops and other little shops if they would like to donate either a monetary donation or a gift to put into the silent auction held. Dates are to be decided next week as to when we will do this.
We brought up the question of how much a cornhole game should cost. We decided on $1 per game per person. Tickets are to be purchased at the Relay event and people can come by and give us a ticket per game if the tickets end up being $1. Otherwise if the tickets are $0.50, we will ask for two tickets per game.
Since we never made shirts for our team, we decided on wearing either a black or pink Purdue t-shirt the night of the Relay.
Carly is going to email some people to see how big our table will be at the Relay and how much space we will have.

CORN HOLE BOARD #2
Hey everyone,
I figured out the corn hole boards while I was at work today at it looks like we will be under budget on the boards so we might be able to use some of that money if our budget gets tight, looks like about 25 dollars will be left in the budget for the boards. I've got blueprints, hand drawn by myself, so they aren't professional but whatever.
Keep up the work!!

A Little About Me
Hey everyone! If you haven't figured out already my name is Carly. I'm a Junior in the College of Ag with a major in Ag Sales and Marketing. My hometown is Veedersburg, IN, which is about an hour southwest of campus. It's a very small community and I wouldn't want it any other way. In fact my graduating class was 72 people. I live on a grain farm where we raise corn and soybeans. It's just me, my mom, and my dad; and no I'm not a spoiled only child :) For the past three years now I have worked at my local John Deere dealership. It started out as a summer internship and has progressed into a part-time position and soon a full-time position. I am a parts representative so if you need an oil filter for your lawn mower or a new feederhouse chain for your combine you just need to talk to me. I love my job. I work with great people and I work for a great family.
I pull an Allis Chalmers D21, AC 200, and sometimes an AC WC. My goal is to one day have a super stock John Deere with a fire suit and helmet. I am the "leader" of our group. The reason I was chosen for this position was because I have participated in the Relay for Life event before and I had contacts within the organization. I am a member of a great group. We all get along great; so far no fights :) I'm excited to see where this semester leads us. I think it is time to end this. If you want to know anything else about me or our group you know where to find me Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1:30-2:20 :) ~Live, Laugh, Love~ Carly
Updates
I sent out an email today to Coach Painter telling him our project and asking for his assistance. I told him that I would be calling his office early next week to get his thoughts if I haven't heard from him by then.
I can't wait to hear if we got the grant or not. I think it would be a great achievement. If we don't receive it will continue on with our plan and try to get help other ways.
The Relay for Life team leaders has their first meeting March 2nd. I can't wait! I'm ready for things to start moving again. Right now our group is kind of at a stand still until we hear from the grant or until the team leader meeting.

Update
So we turned in our grant proposal last Friday. We should hear back from them about Feb. 22, which is next week. If we get the grant, we will be able to go forward with our plans to create fliers and pamphlets to hand out to students. This will help raise awareness about cancer and Relay for Life. We can also then start figuring out how much lumber we will need to build the corn hole games.
Carly is still trying to get ahold of Coach Painter to see if we can get a basketball signed by the team. It's been hard since they've had quite a bit of games recently. Hopefully we will be able to find a time to meet with him soon.
Also, if anyone is interested in going to the last Relay for Life callout, there is one more tomorrow night at 7:00 in KRAN G012.
